After recently moving from the UK, along with having to take a year off due to injury, I was desperate to get back to training BJJ.

I came across the free trial that Gus was offering, so I thought I would check out this facility to make a decision on as to whether I was ready to get back to it, in which I am so incredibly glad I did.

The level of professionalism that this facility offers it’s truly exemplary, in everything from the coaching to the cleanliness.

I was welcomed in instantly on day one by both Gus and his members, and I haven’t looked since.

I simply cannot recommend this team enough.

Amazing gym with a great culture. Gus is a awesome coach with a style and fundamentals that works for beginners and higher belts. Iv been going for years in both gi and no gi and it has been the best decision on my fitness journey. Highly recommended people come down and give it a go.

Gustavo is an excellent skilled professor, he lived and live the BJJ lifestyle, very knowledgeable with a easy way to explain the techniques. The gym has a great atmosphere with a family environment. I recommend to anyone in the area come check it out!

I can’t recommend BTT Jiu Jitsu Academy in Sunshine Coast highly enough! The family environment here is truly special—everyone is welcoming and supportive, making it a fantastic place for both beginners and advanced practitioners. From day one, they made me feel like part of the family. The training is top-notch, thanks to Professor Bomba, who has over 30 years of experience in jiu jitsu. His high-level pedigree and expertise shine through in every class. My skills have improved dramatically since joining, and I always look forward to each session. Whether you’re looking to get fit, learn self-defense, or compete at a high level, this academy is the place to be!
My partner has been training at Gus bomba for a year and he always comes home with a huge grin on his face he’s more confident and has learnt so much from the coach Gus and all the other guys there! Great bunch of people! And even kid friendly My partner often has to take a kid with him and it’s not a problem! Couldn’t recommend a better place or a better bunch of people to train with!

I’ve been training jiujitsu for about 2 1/2 to 3 years and at BTT for around a year. Gus and all the guys have been so welcoming and I feel part of the family. Whether you’re just starting or hooked on jiujitsu I love this gym. Lots of knowledge and I always leave there with no gas left in the tank. I can’t get enough and strongly recommend. OSS thanks gus

Awesome BJJ classes for kids and adults. My son has joined with both and loves the supportive, technical instruction. Gus is professional and extremely knowledgeable and makes the sessions fun too. Highly recommend this studio.

Gus and the team are some of the best people I’ve had the honor of training with and learning alongside.

Gus welcomes suggestions for techniques or training no matter what your skill level is and happily helps to improve you as much as you can. Only up in Sunny Coast for a few weeks, but if/when I’m back, definitely have found my new training spot. Pleasure to learn with BTT.

The best jiu-jitsu instructor I have trained with. Very friendly and patient. Lessons are very practical and effective. Strongly advise checking BTT Australia out if your looking for a superb club with cast iron lineage.

Should’ve written this review a long time ago!

I haven’t tried many BJJ gyms around the coast but I am happy to say that I’ve found my BJJ family in Brazillian Top Team.

Gus is an empathetic, skilled and highly-knowledgeable coach. He always has a smile on his face even when it’s taking me a little longer to pick up new techniques. So are the members… all smiles and every-so-happy to impart their knowledge.

Brazilian Top Team Australia is a fantastic gym. Gus ("Bomba") has created an amazing culture in his facility, catering to hobbyists and aspiring competitors alike. Gus always has time for his students and there are no egos in the gym (not a cliche at BTT!). This attitude is reflected in his students, who are always willing to help, sharing knowledge and techniques from day 1.

When I first joined BTT, I was overweight and out of shape. I am now 20kg lighter and feel the best I have in years, my confidence has skyrocketed and I have made lifelong friends, all while learning to defend myself.

If you're looking to train in an excellent facility under an incredible coach, stop looking, you aren't going to find a better gym than BTT!

Ive been training at Brazilian Top Team for awhile now, and would not train any other club on the Sunshine Coast.
Gus Bomba is exceptional with he's students, the club is family friendly, facility is first class.

I have trained BJJ at a few different gyms around New Zealand and Australia and Brazilian Top Team on the sunshine coast is without a doubt my favorite.

The knowledge and experience that Gus Bomba provides is fantastic and everyone at the club is super friendly.
Everyone is always sharing knowledge and techniques to help fix holes in your game so you can improve rapidly.

 Membership Terms and Conditions – Gus Bomba BJJ Gym – Brazilian Top Team Australia

Membership Agreement:

By signing up for a membership with our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) gym, you agree to abide by the terms and conditions outlined below.

Membership Benefits:

As a member, you are entitled to the following benefits:

  1. Unlimited training sessions per week.
  2. Access to all available BJJ classes and facilities during operating hours.
  3. Access to BJJ instructors and trainers.
  4. Use of gym equipment and amenities.

Membership Fees:

  1. The membership fees are charged on an ongoing basis.
  2. There are no joining fees or lock-in contracts.
  3. The fees will be automatically deducted from your chosen payment method on a regular basis.
  4. The membership fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  5. Membership fees are $55/weekly for the 2025/26 financial year

Cancellation or Suspension:

  1. If you wish to cancel or suspend your membership, a minimum notice period of two weeks is required.
  2. Cancellation or suspension requests must be made in writing and delivered to the gym’s management.
  3. A $50 cancellation or suspension fee will be applied for each request.
  4. No refunds or credits will be provided for partial weeks/months in the case of cancellation or suspension.

Code of Conduct:

  1. All members are expected to adhere to the gym’s code of conduct and rules.
  2. Any misconduct or violation of the gym’s rules may result in the termination of membership without refund.

Personal Health and Liability:

  1. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are in good health and able to participate in physical activities.
  2. The gym will not be held liable for any injuries, accidents, or health conditions that may arise during your membership.
  3. It is recommended that you consult with a medical professional before starting any physical training program.

Changes to Terms and Conditions:

  1. The gym reserves the right to modify or amend these terms and conditions at any time.
  2. Members will be notified of any changes via email or displayed notices at the gym website.

Continued use of the gym facilities and services constitutes acceptance of the modified terms and conditions.

Termination of Membership:

  1. The gym reserves the right to terminate a member’s membership for any reason deemed necessary.
  2. In the event of termination, any prepaid fees will not be refunded.

By signing to our direct debit plan, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms and conditions set forth in this agreement. You also affirm that you are in good health and capable of participating in physical activities.

Annual Adjustment of Memberships:

  1. Membership fees will be adjusted annually at the start of the new financial year.
  2. The adjustment will be made based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) or any other relevant index as determined by the gym management.
  3. The purpose of the adjustment is to account for inflation and maintain the financial sustainability of the gym.
  4. Members will be notified in advance of any adjustments to their membership fees.

By signing to our direct debit plan, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the updated terms and conditions set forth in this agreement.

At our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) gym, we strive to create an inclusive environment that promotes the well-being and growth of all practitioners. To ensure a positive and respectful experience for everyone, we expect all members to adhere to the following code of conduct:

Inclusivity and Respect:

  1. Treat all fellow practitioners, instructors, and staff with respect and courtesy, regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or skill level.
  2. Avoid any form of discrimination, harassment, or bullying.
  3. Embrace diversity and celebrate the different backgrounds and perspectives within our gym.

Personal Hygiene:

  1. Maintain proper personal hygiene at all times to minimize the risk of disease spread and create a clean training environment.
  2. Shower before each training session and ensure your gi (uniform) is clean and odor-free.
  3. Keep your nails trimmed short to prevent accidental scratching or injury to yourself or others.
  4. Wash your training gear regularly to maintain cleanliness and prevent the buildup of bacteria.

Health and Well-being:

  1. Prioritize your own health and well-being during training.
  2. If you have any pre-existing medical conditions, injuries, or concerns, inform your instructor or a staff member before participating in any activities.
  3. Listen to your body and train at a pace that is suitable for your current fitness level and skill progression.
  4. Stay hydrated and take necessary breaks when needed.

Safety and Sportsmanship:

  1. Always prioritize safety during training and follow the instructions and guidance of your instructors.
  2. Avoid reckless or overly aggressive behavior that could cause harm to yourself or others.
  3. Practice good sportsmanship by displaying humility, integrity, and fairness.
  4. Help and support your training partners, promoting a collaborative and positive training atmosphere.

Communication and Feedback:

  1. Engage in open and constructive communication with your instructors, fellow practitioners, and staff members.
  2. Provide feedback, suggestions, or concerns in a respectful manner to contribute to the continuous improvement of our gym.
  3. Be receptive to feedback from instructors and fellow practitioners, using it as an opportunity for growth and learning.

Compliance with Gym Policies and Rules:

  1. Familiarize yourself with and adhere to all gym policies, rules, and regulations.
  2. Follow any specific guidelines or instructions provided by the gym for certain training sessions or events.

Failure to comply with this code of conduct may result in disciplinary actions, including warnings, temporary suspension, or termination of membership.

By participating in our gym activities, you agree to abide by this code of conduct and contribute to maintaining a positive, inclusive, and safe training environment for all.
